Júnior Suci: A Ruína

For his second solo show at Galeria Virgílio, Júnior Suci (b. 1985, Americana, Brazil) works with situations that highlight the vulnerability of the human body and of everyday objects. Comprising three videos, a series of composed of photographs and drawings, and approximately 50 drawings, A Ruína [The Ruin] presents situations of intimacy marked by pessimism and absence, with an acid sense of humour.

Suci works primarily with drawing and video. He holds a degree in Visual Arts from Unesp and a master degree in Visual Poetics from UNICAMP. He has presented solo shows at Centro Cultural São Paulo (2009); Galeria Ibeu, Rio de Janeiro (2011); Centro Universitário Maria Antonia, São Paulo (2011); and Galeria Virgílio (2012); and has participated in group shows in institutions such as MAC USP and Funarte Minas Gerais, among others.
