Lorena Mal: Réplicas

For her solo show, Lorena Mal (Mexico City, 1986) takes as her starting point the peculiar history of the former Temple of Santa Teresa la Antigua. Through a set of pieces developed in four sections (“Lost Paintings”, “Lost Sculptures”, “Lost Bell” and “Replicas”), the artist showcases the result of a series of speculation exercises that explore the history of a series of “lost objects”, questioning their function as tools of protection.
