Over 40 years of production of Maria Leontina are represented in this major solo show dedicated to the post-war period Brazilian artist.
Her production began in the 40s with a modernist aesthetics, in canvases and drawings. Then she rapidly moved on from her figurative language to a more expressionist approach.
The artist is often remembered as the wife of Milton Dacosta, and part of the objective of this extensive show is to change this limited perspective, highlighting Leontina‘s pioneering production and vision.
