Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Turin hosts a group show titled “Organisms”an exhibition of art, architecture, design, photography and food that connects the Art Nouveau with the contemporary. It proposes a new vision of relations between the organismic outlook of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century and biocentriche visions today.

The Past is rapresented by Emile Gallé of which are on display exquisite vases and furniture, and even the architect’s drawings Liberty Raimondo D’Aronco and those of a scientific nature of Santiago Ramón y Cajal, discoverer of the neuron.

Contemporary time is represented by the works of the French artist Pierre Huyghewhich in recent years creates real ecosystems as works of contemporary art, as well as by botanist Patrick Blanc, inventor of the “green walls”, and the architect Mario Cucinella, the whose vision of ecological and sustainable architecture is based on the principle that every building must empathize with the climate and the culture that houses it.

The exhibition also includes artists’ projects Marcos Lutyens and Elena Mazzi. Sustainable power is witnessed by Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food.
