Oi Futuro Flamengo presents the exhibition “Hair-Head” by Maurício Ruiz. The appropriation of images and concepts reproduced in the series, and its subsequent deconstruction, is the procedure that most characterizes the production of Mauricio Ruiz. In “Hair-Head“, it refers to the idea of harmony and inter-ethnic frictions, mixing various types of artificial hair. Blondes, browns, blacks, straight and curly occupying the same space and reconfiguring their heads.
Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1956, the award-winning artist Maurício Ruiz, graduated in Social Communication from UFRJ, is active in the arts circuit since 1989. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, his work are included in collections like Marcantonio Vilaça, Gilberto Chateaubriand e Cisneros.
