First exhibition of the artist with Blain|Southern, Uninsideout offers an extensive overview over Sean Scully‘s artistic career, which now covers over six decades during which the artist rose to international prominence. The show features large-scale and multi-panel paintings, works on paper, some sculptures and selected pieces from his renowned series “Landline”. The selection investigates the roots of the abstract painter’s work, influenced by a mix of European painting and American abstraction, and by his passions as well, namely music and poetry. The works shown are characterised by a recurring geometric rhythm, also affected by the metallic support preferred by the artist.
