Xie Qi: The Unbearable Weight of Things

Xie Qi, (b. 1974 Chongqing, China), a Beijing based woman artist originally from Chongqing, is exhibiting new works at the Pékin Fine Arts gallery in Hong Kong for the first time, following her solo exhibition in the Beijing space in 2014. Xie Qi’s multi-layered paintings deliberately magnify, then obscure and finally glaringly expose her carefully chosen subjects.
