As an official Associate Partner for Art Basel, Audemars Piguet announces that after a successful collaboration in 2016 with renowned Chilean designer Sebastian Errazuriz, they will unveil an innovative new concept for their booth in the Collectors’ Lounge by the designer that will be presented at Art Basel’s 2017 shows. The stand will showcase a video work by Chinese artist Cheng Ran entitled “Circadian Rhythm” interpreting Audemars Piguet’s home in the Jura Mountains through a video installation transporting viewers through immersive soundscapes and landscapes.
Born in inner Mongolia in 1981, Cheng Ran is one of the most noteworthy members of a younger generation of Chinese artists. In 2016 he was invited on a three-month residency at The New Museum in New York, in partnership with the K11 Art Foundation just before Audemars Piguet partnered with Cheng Ran in October 2016 when presenting his work at the Yuz Museum, Shanghai, in conjunction with the Audemars Piguet watch history exhibition “To Break the Rules, You Must First Master Them“.
