Material Art Fair
Material Art Fair is Mexico City’s only contemporary art fair dedicated to emerging practices.
Its third edition will take place from February 4th – 7th, 2016 at EXPO REFORMA, a convention center in the Juarez neighborhood of Mexico City, centrally located near the city’s financial district as well as the Centro Historico, San Rafael, and Roma-Condesa neighborhoods. The venue features ample parking, numerous hotels within walking distance, and some of the city’s best museums and cultural attractions only minutes away.
Material will be expanding to feature over 60 galleries, non-profits, and artist-run spaces, each carefully selected by the fair’s 2016 Selection Committee from a competitive and international group of applicants. The fair will be designed by Mexico City-based architecture studio APRDELESP in collaboration with designer Carla Valdivia, who is also responsible for the Material’s new graphic identity.
Material is an initiative of Daniela Elbahara and Brett W. Schultz, co-directors of Mexico City’s Yautepec gallery, and Isa Natalia Castilla, founder of Incontemporary.
