Il Mercante is a new cocktail bar located in the historic Caffè dei Frari. With a cozy and retro ambiance, the young bar is already a meeting place for locals and wise tourists.
The bar was created with the idea of innovating the Venetian tradition. Everyone who takes a seat inside starts a special journey made of cocktails, ingredients and scents. The waypoints of this trip recall the steps of great pioneers such as Marco Polo, the great Venetian explorer who travelled to China and wrote “Il Milione” (Book of the Marvels of the World).
Il Mercante overlooks Campo dei Frari, one of the most famous Venetian squares, visited each day by many tourists. The symbol of the Square is the namesake Basilica, the biggest Church in Venice, which dates back to 1338. Inside the Basilica there are many masterpieces of art and the tombs of many great personalities related to Venice, such as the painter Tiziano
