If Only You Could See What I’ve Seen with Your Eyes

Palazzo Malipiero, Campo San Samuele, San Marco 3199

Artist Katja Novitskova presents “If Only You Could See What I’ve Seen with Your Eyes” curated by Kati Ilves.

The project is based on Katja Novitskova’s creation of a visual language, which tells the stories of the modern high-tech digital society and addresses the emerging relationship between visual culture, big data-driven industries, and the ecology of the world today. The exhibition takes the visitor out of the comfortable mode of touristic art viewing into a claustrophobic space, more similar to a sci-fi movie set than an exhibition hall.
Novitskova, whose career has been on a meteoric rise right from the start, works and lives in Amsterdam and Berlin. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions around the world including “Life Itself” at Moderna Museet, Stockholm; the 2015 Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art; the 13th Biennale de Lyon; and “No Man’s Land: Women Artists from the Rubell Family Collection” in Miami. Her new solo show “Dawn Mission” opens this weekend at the Kunstverein Hamburg.
