Slovenia 2017

Nika Autor represents Slovenia at the 57th Venice Biennale.

The exhibition is titled “Newsreel 63 – The Train of Shadows“, it focuses on the expression of the social criticism, and takes its inspiration on the concept of trains, travels, journeys, and the research of pursuing happiness as the film’s point of departure.

Also, “Newsreel 63 – The Train of Shadows”  tries to position and understand a particular historical Slovenian narrative, where the refugees are no longer traveling in the couchettes, but in the train’s wheels, and shifts the viewer’s attention on an historical investigation of railways and gives an overview on the social changes , and the results that such changes impress on such a trail travel conveyed.
