Everybody Admires Palmyra’s Greatness
The Syrian Arab Republic Pavilion takes part at the 57th Venice Biennale with “Everybody admires Palmyra’s Greatness”, a group show commissioned and curated by Emad Kashout.
The Pavilion in its six years of participation, developed the comparison between free aesthetic experiences characterizing contemporary world.
Syrian and International artists Asma Alfyoumi, Giuseppe Biasio, Lina Dib, Angelo Dozio, Franca Pisani, Anas Al Raddawi, Abdullah Reda, Patrizia Dalla Valle, are called to show through different media (videos, paintings and site-specifics) the wide range of stylistic approaches and creative practices the same environmental and historical context could offer.
The exhibition is also a tribute to Palmyra, the ancient city recently destroyed, to remember us its importance in worldwide Art and Culture. Each artist is invited to shown, in his own personal way, leaving prints attesting human existence.
