Born in Bratislava, 1986 and lives in Bratislava

András Cséfalvay was born in Bratislava. 2005-2001 studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, 2011-2012 Commenius University, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. 2015 he finished his doctorate thesis on the relationship of fiction and material reality. 2009 winner of the most prestigious awards for emerging artist The Oskar Čepan Award. One of his main themes of his practice is the quest for the meaning of art and its innermost motivations and the current role or more precisely the mission of an artist in contemporary society. He tends to perceive the artist as a fallen hero, constantly struggling with the messianic ambitions. His works are represented in the collection of The Slovak Natonal Gallery and Malmö Konstmuseum
