Maria Alicata

Rome-based art historian and curator, Maria Alicata holds a PhD in contemporary art history.
Her research interests focus on artists’ cinema, intermedia and performative practices, as well as the Neo-Avant-Garde in Italy in the 1960s and the 1970s, and the use of archival forms and methods in contemporary art practices. She has worked for many private and public institutions such as Fondazione Adriano Olivetti, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome (MACRO) and Fondazione Baruchello.
