Eugene Soh

Born in Singapore, 1987 and lives in Singapore

Eugene Soh‘s works that make a parody out of the living conditions of Singaporeans are always imbued with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. He uses a distinct conversationalist style and relies heavily on social media and online platforms to engage his audience. He also uses his technological expertise to manipulate various forms of digital art, pushing the boundaries to pave new ways for technology in art. His new media art explorations include the establishment of the virtual art gallery Gallery.sg as a site for web art exhibitions.
In 2010, Soh created The Last Kopitiam, a satirical take on Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, which garnered much press. Upon graduating from the Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media in 2013, Soh held his first solo exhibition at OCBC Centre Branch, Singapore. In the same year, he was a finalist with Honourable Mention at the 2nd France + Singapore Photographic Arts Award, as well as a finalist in the Sony World Photography Awards Student Focus, World Photography Organisation, London.
