Iris Müller-Westermann has been appointed as the new director of the Malmö outpost of Moderna Museet, Stockholm’s modern and contemporary art museum.

Müller-Westermann, who will take up the post on January 1, 2017, is currently a senior curator at Moderna Museet Stockholm, where she has worked since 1997 and staged some of the museum’s most acclaimed exhibitions, including solo shows by Louise Bourgeois, Lee Lozano, Jutta Koether, Rosemarie Trockel, and Hilma af Klint—an exhibition that is currently on view at the Serpentine Gallery in London.

She will succeed John Peter Nilsson who will stay on as a curator at Moderna Museet in Stockholm—the museum’s other location.
