Videoart at Midnight – an Artists’ Cinema Project
The IBB Video Space at the Berlinische Galerie has been running its 12×12 programme for five years now. It is a regular showcase for both promising young talent and eminent names from Berlin’s vibrant video art landscape. This in itself has forged a link between the Berlinische Galerie and the much-acclaimed project Videoart at Midnight. Besides, since 2012 the Berlinische Galerie has been acquiring the Videoart at Midnight Edition for its collection. To mark Gallery Weekend 2016, the Berlinische Galerie now presents Videoart at Midnight, using the IBB Video Space to screen a versatile selection of those high-calibre works from the collection.
Videoart at Midnight is a project by Olaf Stüber and Ivo Wessel. Once a month on a Friday always at Midnight the two art enthusiasts invite artists to show their works on the big screen of the legendary BABYLON film theatre in Berlin district Mitte.
Videoart at Midnight is a private, independant initiative. Admission is free and everybody is welcome.
On Saturday, April 30th and on Sunday May 1st, Videoart at Midnight selects works in a one-hour program that will be continuous to see from 10 am – 6 pm:
