Eva Meyer-Hermann
Born in Cologne, 1962
Eva Meyer-Hermann started her studies at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Stuttgart in 1981, then moved to the University of Bonn to study art history, classical archaeology and urban planning. She received her doctorate in 1991 with Eduard Trier with a thesis on the phenomenon of soil sculpture.
From 1992 to 1995 Eva Meyer-Hermann worked as a curator at the Krefeld Haus Lange and Haus Esters museums. She then became deputy director – and shortly thereafter director – of the Nuremberg Kunsthalle (until 1998).
From 1999 to 2001 she was founding director of the Hauser and Wirth Private Collection in the Lokremise in St. Gallen. At the same time, she was responsible for the Friedrich Christian Flick Collection in Zurich as curator/director. In 2002 she was offered a professorship at the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, where she worked as a senior curator for four years.
