The Milanese institutions will also be involved in a project specifically designed for the occasion by miart – Starry Worlds. By pursuing the goal of making poetry as the central soul of the twenty-fifth edition of the fair, it draws inspiration from an essay by American poet and intellectual Adrienne Rich (1929-2012) called For Memory (1981), and in particular from the verses:

freedom is daily, prose-bound, routine
remembering. Putting together, inch by inch
the starry worlds. From all the lost collections.

As part of its “words-driven” programme, miart connected various city’s institutions by asking the artists involved in their September exhibitions to share verses, quotes and fragments of poetry that have been significant or influential for their research and work. This anthology-constellation will be featured in the miart digital platform by creating a poetic map of the city of Milan.

The artists involved in the project are: Vincenzo Agnetti for Archivio Vincenzo Agnetti, Nairy Baghramian for Fondazione Furla, Elisabetta Benassi for Fondazione Adolfo Pini, Maurizio Cattelan for Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Zehra Dogan and Luisa Lambri for PAC – Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea, Simon Fujiwara for Fondazione Prada, Tõnu Kõrvits for MiTo Settembre Musica, Corrado Levi for Triennale Milano, Adrian Paci for ArtLine, and Alessandro Pessoli for Chiostri di Sant’Eustorgio.

In addition, this year miart collaborates with C2C Festival for the first time, presenting #C2CMLN shared by Gucci on the occasion of the fair, a two-day programme that includes the open rehearsal of “FORSE ORA” – the new and anticipated musical project by Caterina Barbieri, Lorenzo Senni and Jim C. Nedd.
