The Wonder is an artist-run space: a place run by and for artists. The eponymous collective occupies large disused complexes in the Parisian suburbs. After the Wonder battery factories in Saint-Ouen from 2013 to 2016, the Liebert tower in Bagnolet from 2016 to 2019, the Zenith building in Nanterre from 2019 to 2020, the Wonder is now installed at the Fortin, a former printing plant located in Clichy.
The collective shapes the premises it occupies in its own image: collective workshops, a shared machine park, a space for experimentation and emergence for artistic and political thought, available to artists: 60 are currently hosted there.
The Wonder is an independent, free and experimental space. As a production workshop as well as a living space, it is above all a tool contributing to the autonomy and professionalization of its residents. It offers them low-cost work spaces, close to Paris, for large-scale, transdisciplinary projects, from creation to exhibition, carried with strength by their authors.
