Caixa Cultural
Inaugurated in the ancient seat of the Caixa Economica, the Caixa Cultural de São Paulo is the location of different events accessible to everyone, which promote Brazilian culture and values.
Opened in 1989, the Caixa Cultural of São Paulo is based in an historical building in Praça da Sè, easy reachable to the public.
This is one of the centres opened by the institution Caixa Cultural in seven Brazilian capitals, with the goal to invest in and disseminate culture in the main cities of the nation.
This company is born with the objective to valorize the peculiarities of Brazilian culture, in constant dialogue with the traditions and values of all the regions of the country. Therefore, the Caixa Cultural supports the realization of events set in its centres, all free or low-priced, to allow the participation of the citizens.
Its program is characterized by a great variety of manifestations, related with national art and culture, involving artists of other nationalities too, to encourage exchanges.
It also seeks to promote the inclusion of people of all ages and necessities through specific projects.
The building of the Caixa Cultural de São Paulo contains several art galleries, a space for dance, theatre, literature and other kind of shows, a museum, an auditorium and spaces with free Internet access.
