Midge Wattles Studio

Midge Wattles is an American artist working between Palermo and New York. Her focus on Sicily began in 2014 while creating a still life series of photographs called “Offertorio” about the forms and flesh of the Ballarò market. From 2016-2017, she was awarded a fine arts Fulbright grant to continue her photographic work in Sicily as well as to conduct researches about Sicilian photographers. In her studio on Nicolò Garzilli, she works on photography series about the folklore of objects, symbols, and surfaces belonging to Sicily.
