Stadtcasino Basel

The Stadtcasino Basel is a concert hall located in the town centre, on the Barfüsserplatz. The elegant institution belongs to the Casino-Gesellschaft Basel, a non-profit cultural association funding and promoting musical performances, and it celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2024.

In 2016, a project of radical restoration of the building begun: after four years of structural alterations and extensions carried on by the herzog & de meuron team, the concert hall reopened its doors in August 2020, with a special programme of events celebrating the occasion.
