Run by oenologist Francesco Carfagna, Altura Vigneto is a winery that organises artistic wine-tasting events in the beautiful rural setting of Isola del Giglio. Don’t miss out on their top-quality type, “Ansonaco”, a white wine from the island of Giglio that is macerated for two weeks on the skins to obtain an extraordinary orange colour. It is obtained from young vines of Ansonaco that are arranged in terracing near the sea. The nose is a bucolic painting of the island: bitter red oranges, sea breezes, Mediterranean herbs and smoked nuances. The body is rich, taut and salty, characterized by a rustic freshness.
