Mattatoio

The ex Mattatoio, one of the most striking examples of industrial archeology in the heart of Rome, is nowadays a dynamic platform to dialogue in contemporary art.

Piazza Orazio Giustiniani, 4
00153 Roma

The architectural complex of the Mattatoio, built between 1888 and 1891 by Gioacchino Ersoch, is considered one of the most important buildings of industrial archeology of the city of Rome for the modernity and the originality of its structures.

Nowadays the Mattatoio wants to represent a center of excellence for the production and public return of national and international research related to the performing arts and their relationship with the visual arts as well as scientific languages and knowledge related to architectural design and urban planning.
