Istituto Italiano di Cultura
Founded in 1950 and based in an historic building, the centre is an official institution of the Italian government
The Instituto Italiano di Cultura of São Paulo is a point of reference for the Italians or their descendants living in Brazil, constituting an important link with the culture of origin of these communities.
Its program is enriched with initiatives to promote Italian language and culture but also cooperation and intercultural exchanges between Italians and Brazilians. To reach this goal, it organizes events such as concerts, exhibitions, architecture exhibitions, book fairs, film festivals, theatrical performances, conferences and seminars, but it also provides useful information or Italian language courses.
The institute hosts a library, where a wide collection of Italian volumes can be consulted, and a multimedia room.
