Fondazione Achille Castiglioni

Fondazione Achille Castiglioni ensures that the designer’s legacy is preserved and shared with a global audience.

Piazza Castello 27, 20121 Milan, Italy

The Fondazione Achille Castiglioni was established in 2011, to preserve and share the rich legacy of Achille Castiglioni, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. The foundation’s main goal is to catalogue, organise, digitise, and archive an extensive collection of projects, drawings, photographs, models, films, lectures, objects, books, and magazines, offering insight into Achille Castiglioni’s 60-year career—first alongside his brother Pier Giacomo, and later as a solo designer. This meticulous work, initiated by Castiglioni’s longtime collaborators, is now led by Antonella Gornati, who worked closely with him for over 20 years.

The foundation hosts guided tours of the Studio Museum, where visitors can explore four distinctive rooms, each revealing a different aspect of Castiglioni’s creative world: prototypes and models, drafting tables and design tools, a collection of anonymous objects used in his teaching, and a meeting room displaying iconic pieces that shaped design history.
