Fondation Fernet-Branca

2 Rue du Ballon, 68300 Saint-Louis, France

The project to transform a former distillery into a contemporary art space is part of a broader urban vision and a significant cross-border cultural network. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the conversion preserves the building's status as a listed historic monument and a piece of industrial heritage. The venue provides a dedicated space for contemporary artists and major public events, complementing the regional cultural landscape.

The exhibition layout is organised into distinct rooms with large white picture rails, creating quiet alcoves for viewing artwork. The courtyard serves as the initial outdoor exhibition space and provides natural light to the interior corridors, which is supplemented by precise artificial lighting within the alcoves.
