Pastificio Cerere Foundation

Established in Rome in 2005 by Flavio Misciattelli, with the objective of promoting and disseminating contemporary art through the development of relationships and collaborations with private and public bodies, and national and foreign cultural institutions.

Via degli Ausoni 7

The Foundation is housed inside the Pastificio Cerere, a former pasta factory that rose to fame in the 1980s as the home of the “San Lorenzo Group,” which included Nunzio, Bruno Ceccobelli, Gianni Dessì, Giuseppe Gallo, Piero Pizzi Cannella and Marco Tirelli. Today, the spaces of the former factory continue to house artists’ studios, art galleries, photography schools and graphic studios.
The Foundation organizes and promotes educational projects and residences for young artists and curators, as well as a rich program of shows, conferences, workshops and studio visits.
Education is the trait d’union of the Foundation’s activity, which aims to carry out projects that involve a large and heterogeneous audience. This is enabled both by diversified programming and by the presence of the archive, which collects documentation and research testifying to the cultural patrimony that has animated the life of the former Pastificio for over thirty years.
One of the main objectives of the artistic program is to establish a dialogue with the students who live in the neighborhood of San Lorenzo, which is profoundly and historically tied to the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” located just a short walk from the Foundation.
