Casa Mollino
The Museo Casa Mollino preserves the apartment Carlo Mollino designed for himself on the first floor of the 1888 Villa Avondo, overlooking the River Po in central Turin. Designed between 1960 and 1968, the apartment was not intended as a home but as a private project rich in symbolism.
The Museum retains almost all original furnishings, designed or selected by Mollino, arranged as in the original setting. It is complemented by archives of documents, publications, and photographs spanning Mollino’s career. Casa Mollino promotes the study and appreciation of his work through publications and retrospective exhibitions, and over more than 20 years it has become an international reference for museums, collectors, and auction houses, offering expertise on Mollino’s vintage furniture and photography.
After Mollino’s death in 1973, the apartment was preserved by engineer Aldo Vandoni, who used it as a studio until 1999, when Fulvio and Napoleone Ferrari founded the Museum. Careful research and restoration have returned the apartment as closely as possible to its original condition, providing insight into Mollino’s complex character and work.
