East Wing

East Wing is a platform for contemporary image-makers, presenting a programme of emerging and established artists working in photography and lens-based media from around the world.

The gallery supports research-driven and conceptually focused projects that examine and challenge established perceptions of photography, encouraging critical engagement and dialogue. The presented works aim to stimulate reflection and contribute to broader discussions within visual culture.

Founded in Doha, Qatar, in 2012, East Wing established a gallery space in Dubai from 2014 to 2018 and participated in international art fairs. From 2018 onwards, the organisation began developing hybrid and digital exhibition models, exploring new platforms for the online presentation of lens-based artworks to international audiences.

Currently, East Wing combines online exhibitions and editorial content through Artsy and social media platforms. The gallery also curates occasional pop-up exhibitions and collaborates with photography festivals internationally. In addition, East Wing provides consultancy services and collection development support for individuals and institutions interested in contemporary photography and video.
