Founded in 2008 by Amel B. Makkawi, Art Sawa is an art platform providing artists from the region with a space where they can present their work and raise awareness on contemporary art from the Middle East, North Africa and neighboring countries.

Art Sawa is dedicated to promoting world-class contemporary art to a global and regional audience; the gallery has two branches in Dubai, in Al Quoz and in DIFC, and opened a third one in Kuwait in 2017.
