Galería Elvira González opened in Madrid in February 1994, founded by Elvira González, who directed Galería Theo from 1966 to 1991. It is now led by her daughters, Elvira Mignoni and Isabel Mignoni.
The gallery specialises in European and American art of the late 20th and 21st centuries. It has presented major exhibitions, including works by Mark Rothko, Picasso, Alexander Calder, Yves Tanguy, Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, Richard Serra, Antoni Tàpies, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Robert Mapplethorpe, Sol LeWitt, Juan Muñoz, Joan Miró, Olafur Eliasson, Günter Haese, Elena Asins, Josep Llorens Artigas, Miquel Barceló, Albarrán Cabrera, Pae White, and Juan Uslé.
The gallery collaborates with leading museums and institutions and advises on private and institutional collections. It also maintains a substantial collection of 20th- and 21st-century works.
