Oscar Román
Since 1991, the gallery has distinguished itself through the promotion of innovative artworks aligned with international trends—works that embrace a certain degree of risk and remain independent from neo-conceptual definitions. Thanks to consistent criteria, high quality, diversity and strong promotional efforts, Oscar Román has succeeded in generating a national and international market, allowing the gallery to grow both within the artistic field and the critical discourse.
With more than 400 national and international exhibitions, the gallery has showcased, evaluated and compared a wide range of pictorial approaches destined to shape a distinct artistic trajectory. These include established artists such as Jesús Urbieta, Alejandro Arango, José Luis Bustamante, Luis López Loza, Jazzamoart, Jorge Marín, Ernesto Álvarez, Agustín Castro López, Luis Filcer, Vladimir Cora, Laura Quintanilla and Rodrigo De la Sierra, among others—as well as the notable example of Alice Rahon, whose work the gallery presented at the Museo de Arte Moderno in 2009.
The gallery also supports emerging talent, including Gabriel Guerrero, Japane, Daniel Azuara, Fernando Sama, Ricardo Alemán, Carolina Convers and Gabriela González Leal—artists whose valuable proposals reflect diverse tendencies.
Behind the work of all these artists lies a shared spirit that defines Galería Oscar Román. This distinctive character permeates the gallery’s artistic programme and is reflected both in each artist and in every exhibition presented to the public.
