Since its opening in 2017, Peana has functioned as a platform for the multidisciplinary production and research of emerging Mexican contemporary art, with a particular focus on experimental practices. A key characteristic of the artists supported by the gallery is the ongoing evolution of conceptual, rigorously expressive works grounded in the materiality of the medium. Through its off-site and group exhibitions, Peana engages in curatorial practices that serve as a cultural synthesis, bridging historical art movements with contemporary practices from both Mexico and abroad.
