Terreno Baldío
Terreno Baldío Arte is a Mexico City–based contemporary art gallery committed to supporting innovative and research-driven artistic practices. With a focus on traditional craftsmanship and conceptual methodologies, the gallery explores themes of human existence in social, political, and philosophical contexts.
Since 2005, the gallery has organized more than 130 exhibitions and developed public programs in Parque Luis Cabrera (Mexico City), as well as collaborative projects with Fundación Javier Marín in Michoacán and Yucatán. Its program fosters ongoing dialogue, research, and experimentation between artists, institutions, and audiences.
The gallery represents Javier Marín, organising major exhibitions of his work in museums across Mexico and internationally, in over 12 countries. It also represents artists such as Kiyoto Ota, Anette Kuhn, Héctor Velázquez, Aron Demetz, and Ángel Ricardo Ricardo, while supporting emerging talents like Francisco Esnayra and Alfredo Cota.
Terreno Baldío Arte produces exhibitions, collaborates with institutions, and offers tailored project development, including commissioned works, public art, and space design. Founder Eduardo Mier y Terán is also a co-founder of the Fundación Javier Marín.
