Eastcontemporary

Based in Milan, eastcontemporary is dedicated to the research, development, and support of international artists through exhibitions, public programmes, and partnerships.
Founded in 2020 as a non-profit project space, it evolved into a contemporary art gallery in 2021. The gallery provides a global perspective on Central and Eastern European art, as well as regions historically influenced by the former Soviet Union, including Southeastern Europe and Central Asia.
Its mission is to facilitate international recognition for artists from these regions, acting as a tangible bridge between distant artistic communities. The programme explores themes surrounding the West/non-West dichotomy, encouraging practices that question cultural constructs in a globalised world.
