Le Vite

Tan Cheng, originally from Manchuria, was a student in the final course at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, taught by Garutti. He recalls, “At the Academy, I met the artists I still work with, my friends.” Before retiring, Garutti suggested to some of his students the idea of renting the warehouse below his studio in Bovisa. This is how Armada was born – an artist-run space founded by 19 friends, which became a vital meeting point for the younger generation of artists for five years. Following Armada, Cheng and his closest friends opened the gallery Le Vite in a garage on Via Cenisio 47.
