Mazzoleni, Milan
Mazzoleni Gallery was founded in Turin in 1986 by Giovanni and Anna Pia Mazzoleni, as a natural evolution of a private collection that began in the first half of the 1950s. The Turin premises, which occupy two floors of the historic Palazzo Panizza in Piazza Solferino, have been complemented since 2014 by a London space in the Mayfair arts district and, in 2025, by a Milan location on the central Via Senato.
For over 35 years, Mazzoleni has exhibited Italian and international artists of the twentieth century, with a particular focus on post-war Italian art, working in close collaboration with the relevant artists’ archives and foundations. Its exhibition programmes are distinguished by international curatorship and accompanied by substantial scholarly publications. Under the direction of Davide and Luigi Mazzoleni, the gallery has expanded its activities by working with leading contemporary artists, promoting contemporary Italian art on the international stage.
Mazzoleni participates in international art fairs, including those within the Art Basel and Frieze circuits, as well as Artissima, Arte Fiera and miart in Italy, and has more recently engaged with new collecting contexts such as Frieze Seoul and Art Abu Dhabi.
The gallery’s collection has been exhibited in museums and institutions worldwide, including the Centre Pompidou and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Tate Gallery and the Estorick Collection in London, the Museo del Novecento in Florence, GNAM in Rome, the MADRE museum in Naples, and the Triennale and Palazzo Reale in Milan, as well as at the Venice Biennale.
