It is a small but solid destination for catching younger talent on the verge. The gallery is known for putting on stunning shows like the one for photographer Roe Ethridge—which included various phases of the moon, the Los Angeles highway, and found images of beautifully wrapped gift boxes. Other gallery talents include painter Cheyney Thompson. As for sculpture, there’s Ricci Albenda, who produces smooth, curvaceous plaster pieces that seem to either grow out of or recede into the walls. A few years ago, the artist did a number on the former MoMA’s mezzanine level.
