Leslie Tonkonow Artworks + Projects opened in April 1997 in the landmark Starrett Lehigh Building in Chelsea with the exhibition, Critical Images, including major early works by Vito Acconci, John Baldessari, Robert Barry, Dan Graham, Douglas Huebler, Joseph Kosuth, Lawrence Weiner and others. It has remained at its present location since the fall of 2000.

Leslie Tonkonow Artworks + Projects opened in April 1997 in the landmark Starrett Lehigh Building in Chelsea with the exhibition, Critical Images, including major early works by Vito Acconci, John Baldessari, Robert Barry, Dan Graham, Douglas Huebler, Joseph Kosuth, Lawrence Weiner and others. It has remained at its present location since the fall of 2000.

The gallery represents a diverse, international group of artists working in all mediums including pioneering figures who emerged in the mid-20th Century such as Robert Watts, Agnes Denes, Michelle Stuart and Kunié Sugiura, and established younger artists such as Amy Cutler, Laurel Nakadate, Malerie Marder, Dean Byington and Ian Davis. The exhibition program alternates solo shows of gallery artists with group shows of historical and contemporary works. It also works with other galleries in presenting solo shows of artists such as Wolfgang Laib, Lawrence Weiner and James Welling.

Offering discrete advisory services regarding acquisitions and sales, the gallery has placed works by such major figures as Vito Acconci, Richard Artschwager, Bernd & Hilla Becher, John Chamberlain, Marcel Duchamp, Michael Heizer, Yayoi Kusama, Sol LeWitt, Roy Lichtenstein, Magritte, Man Ray, John McCracken, Claes Oldenberg, Michaelangelo Pistoletto, Fred Sandback, Salvatore Scarpitta, Richard Serra, Andy Warhol, Lawrence Weiner, and others in both private and museum collections. The gallery is a regular participant at art fairs, including Art Basel Miami Beach, The Art Show/Art Dealers Association of America, Expo Chicago and others.

Leslie Tonkonow Artworks + Projects is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America.
