Polaris
The Polaris Gallery, founded by Bernard Utudjian, is a gallery of contemporary art, located in the Marais, in Paris.
Bernard Utudjian runs the Polaris Gallery, which opened its first space on Rue Michel Le Comte in 1985. That small space was later replaced by a larger one on Rue Saint Claude in 1990, before moving to its current location at 15 Rue des Arquebusiers in 2008, which offers nearly 150 m² of exhibition space.
From its earliest years and continuing today, the gallery has been committed to showcasing (and supporting!) emerging artists in order to introduce both institutions and private collectors to the diversity of contemporary art. Serving as a true springboard and talent scout, the Polaris Gallery has hosted the debut exhibitions of artists who are now internationally renowned, such as Yto Barrada, Speedy Graphito, Matthias Bruggmann, Louis Heilbronn, and Sara Ouhaddou…
Today, the Polaris Gallery serves as a true showcase for passing on the craft of gallery ownership through Bernard Utudjian’s commitment to his students, both French and international.
