Marcelle Alix

Marcelle Alix is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2009 and directed by Isabelle Alfonsi and Cécilia Becanovic. The gallery follows a rhythm that they deem appropriate to their activity, to remain independent from any form of norms or pressure and follow their intuition. The gallery is a creative space, where the dialogue with the artists is based on a more equal relationship to creativity.

The gallery embraces a fragmentary, rhizomatic spirit rather than a straight ‘direction’: it is a place where desire, detours, and unforeseeable encounters shape its path. This openness allows the gallery to support the artists they believe in, to follow their progress, and to share the pleasure of creation with them, building an evolving and fluid identity rather than adhering to predetermined categories.
