MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique emerged from the acquisition of the “Pièce Unique” brand, a bold space originally established in 1989 by the renowned gallerist Lucio Amelio, in collaboration with Cy Twombly. The gallery aims to honour and reinterpret the legacy of this historical project for the 21st century, rejuvenating its original vision while offering an alternative exhibition model within the contemporary art landscape. Notably, MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique distinguishes itself as an event-free gallery, eschewing traditional openings, dinners, and VIP events. Instead, it strikes a new balance between physical exhibitions and digital initiatives.
