Mor Charpentier
Founded in 2010 by Alex Mor and Philippe Charpentier, the gallery represents both emerging and well-established artists.
Established in Paris in 2010, Mor Charpentier represents both emerging and well-established artists whose conceptual practices are deeply anchored in social realities, history, and politics across diverse geographic regions, with a particular focus on the Global South. By promoting engaged practices internationally, the gallery aims to broaden understanding of crucial contemporary debates and foster meaningful dialogue around pressing social and political issues.
The gallery’s inaugural exhibition with Colombian master Oscar Muñoz addressed a gap in the French art scene and set the tone for a programme prioritising content and expanding the spectrum of origins, subjects, and identities within the art market. Since then, mor charpentier has welcomed an increasing number of internationally recognised artists. Coming from varied global backgrounds and generations, they share a commitment to political, feminist, post-colonial, queer, and human rights concerns.
In 2021, the gallery opened a second exhibition space in Bogotá, extending its programme to new audiences and supporting artists in exploring new territories. This expansion strengthens the gallery’s long-term engagement with the Latin American scene, reinforces its support for the Colombian artistic ecosystem, and confirms mor charpentier’s international outlook and dedication to socially engaged, conceptually rigorous art.
