Hunt Kastner Artworks

Hunt Kastner Artworks is an independent gallery located in the lively art scene of Zizkov, Praha 3

hunt kastner was opened in 2006 by Camille Hunt and Katherine Kastner in response to a need for more professional representation of young Czech artists both locally and abroad.  At the time the gallery was established there were no tradition of professional commercial galleries in the Czech Republic presenting an international program and supporting the production and exhibition of new contemporary work in a private gallery setting, or who actively represented and promoted the artists’ work abroad. At the same time, there were very few Czech artists with any international recognition and no local commercial platform for the younger generation of artists whose work was slowly gaining recognition. Our aim has been to establish a reputable commercial gallery with a high-quality program that will inspire others to join us and build a vibrant contemporary art scene with international contacts.

hunt kastner presents, on average, five to six exhibitions a year showing newly commissioned work created specifically for the gallery space – in painting, photography, installation and video – by both artist’s represented by the gallery as well as other invited Czech and international artists. We have been participating in major international art fairs, such as Frieze, Art Basel, Liste or Fiac, since 2007 and also actively cooperate with other galleries and institutions through joint exhibitions and loans both at home and abroad. In 2013, hunt kastner moved from Letna to a larger gallery space in the Žižkov district of Prague 3.
