6A Taller y Galería de Arte

6A Taller y Galería de Arte is a unique Spanish gallery with a printmaking workshop, preserving traditional techniques and supporting contemporary artists.

6A Taller y Galería de Arte is one of the few art galleries in Spain that also operates its own traditional printmaking workshop. With the gallery on one side and the workshop directly opposite, this project—founded in 1982—represents a unique concept. Over the years, the workshop has printed and published more than 1,800 images by over 100 artists, who are invited to explore traditional printmaking techniques such as woodcut, intaglio engraving, and lithography. Under the guidance of a highly skilled technical team, these artists bring their creative visions to life through meticulous craftsmanship.

What sets Taller 6A apart is its extraordinary collection of over 600 active lithographic stones, making it one of the most significant workshops of its kind in Spain—if not the only one. Equipped with rare and historically significant presses and machines, many of which are the only ones still in use in the country, the workshop provides artists with the tools necessary to produce entirely original works under the 100% 6A seal.

For more than four decades, the workshop has been at the forefront of technical research in printmaking, continually striving to offer artists the highest level of expertise. The original graphic works printed and published at Taller 6A are featured in carefully curated exhibitions within the gallery, where prints and unique works coexist in perfect balance, always maintaining the highest standards of excellence and quality.

6A Taller y Galería de Arte has achieved significant recognition for its contributions to printmaking and contemporary art. It is the only institution of its kind to have exhibited at the Calcografía Nacional in Madrid (1987) and the iconic La Lonja in Palma de Mallorca (1989). In 2018, the City Council of Palma awarded the gallery the Gold Medal of the City in recognition of its contributions to traditional printmaking techniques and contemporary art. This was followed in 2019 by the Rotary Mallorca Visual Arts Prize (2018-2019), and in 2022, the Government of the Balearic Islands honored the gallery with the prestigious Ramon Llull Award, acknowledging four decades of dedication to history, technique, art, and culture.
