Monica De Cardenas Zuoz
Monica De Cardenas Gallery was founded in 1992 in Milan, Italy, and quickly became known for promoting both emerging and established contemporary artists. Early exhibitions included Thomas Struth (1993), Markus Raetz (1994), Gabriel Orozco (1995), Stephan Balkenhol (1996), and Alex Katz (1998).
In 2006, a second space opened in Zuoz, Switzerland, in a restored 15th-century building by architect Hans-Jörg Ruch. The gallery has since presented exhibitions by Italian artists such as Marisa Merz, Gianni Colombo, and Fausto Melotti, alongside Swiss artists including Franz Gertsch and Uwe Wittwer. In 2023, it held the first posthumous solo exhibition of Markus Raetz, featuring previously unseen sculptures.
With a programme that combines historical depth and the discovery of new talent, the gallery maintains a strong presence in both Milan and Zuoz.
