Campo del Ghetto Nuovo 2909
Founded on July 28, 1979 in Venice near Ponte di San Moisè by artist and gallerist Živa Kraus, Ikona Gallery has long been a landmark for international photography and visual culture. Since 1989, Ikona Venezia has also operated as an International School of Photography.
Over the years, the gallery has realized projects in several prestigious venues across the city, before settling in its current location at Campo del Ghetto Nuovo in 2003. Its exhibition spaces have hosted many of the world’s most influential photographers, including Berenice Abbott, Gabriele Basilico, Robert Doisneau, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Mario Giacomelli, William Klein, Helmut Newton, Ferdinando Scianna, and many others.
